YMCA Summer Camps
YMCA camps provide a fun and safe environment for youth from kindergarten through 8th grade during those long days of summer that can be boring for kids and worrisome for parents.
Regular camp hours are from 9 am to 3:30 p.m., plus the Y provides extended hours from 7 - 9 a.m. and 3:30 - 6 p.m. in order to provide a safe environment for kids that need to be dropped off early or picked up late. During extended care hours campers will have a choice of activities ranging from arts and crafts, quiet games, reading, and gym activities. Campers are welcome to bring a snack for the extended care hours if needed. The extended hours program is included in the camp fee.
Summer Food Service Program
The Danville Family YMCA will participate in the Summer Food Service Program, beginning June 2, 2008 and ending August 15, 2008. Free meals will be made available to all children 18 years of age and under and to persons over 18 who are enrolled in a state-approved educational program for the mentally or physically disabled. Meals are made available to all eligible participants without regard to race, color, national origin, disability, sex or age.
For an accurate lunch count, all participants must register by Thursday of each week. Late registrants must bring a sack lunch on Monday.
