Strong Kids
The YMCA has been a strong, positive force in Danville for over 125 years and serves over 11,000 individuals per year.
In 2007, we awarded over $110,700 in financial assistance to 1,258 individuals. Over 5,100 people have memberships at the YMCA.
So many kids need the activities, structure, and caring, positive environment that a YMCA membership can provide. Your gift to our Strong Kids Annual Campaign opens the door to our fantastic YMCA facility full of fun opportunities – shooting hoops; swimming; and classes in gymnastics, swimming, and Tae Kwon Do; or just hanging out in the teen center.
YMCA staff and volunteers build strong kids through Character Development based programs and activities. Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility are emphasized everyday at the Danville Family YMCA.
By giving to the Danville Family YMCA Strong Kids Annual Campaign, you can make a difference in the life of a child. Your gift provides membership assistance for youth, seniors, and families with limited financial resources.
We are committed to providing these scholarships, but we truly need your help to support the large number of requests received.
Contributors of $1,000 or more are recognized in our Banner portion of the campaign with a 3 x 5 foot banner which is displayed in our Large Gym.
All Strong Kids gifts of $100 and above are recognized by the presentation of a plaque, and all donors are recognized by publication in the Commerical-News.
